10 Month Diversity Training Scheme With BBC Cymru Wales

This opportunity is being delivered in partnership between Cyfle and BBC Cymru Wales. We are looking for 3 trainees to be part of this fantastic initiative which offers the ultimate opportunity for a talented individual to gain real industry experience; train on the job and develop specific skills; receive continuous support and guidance from top industry professionals, as well as the unique opportunity to actively contribute to the BBC Cymru Wales productions.

WHAT IS THIS TRAINING SCHEME?
This positive action scheme is aimed at people from black and minority ethnic backgrounds. it is designed to encourage the potential of talented and creative people of black and ethnic minority backgrounds who are looking to develop a career in the industry.
This positive action training scheme was developed in accordance with section 37 of the Race Relations Act 1976 to encourage the potential of Black and Minority Ethnic groups in positive action training in areas of employment where there is shown to be under representation.
For the purposes of this positive action training scheme the following racial groups are being specifically targeted and will be referred to as ‘Ethnic Minority’ –
- Asian
- Asian/British
- Black/British
- Black/Other
- Chinese
- Middle/Near Eastern
- Mixed Ethnic
This is an intensive 10 month full time vocational training scheme for new entrants. We are looking for 3 trainees in the following grades:
- Trainee Production Management Assistant x 2
- Trainee Junior Graphics Designer x 1
We hope that by the end of the placement the trainee would have gained specific knowledge, experience and competencies in the following areas:
- A comprehensive understanding of the department and the roles within that department.
- Gained knowledge and developed a basic understanding of the different processes and activities relating to the job..
- Improved industry contacts and networking knowledge.
- Improved understanding of career pathways and the diverse regional support available to new entrants.
- Industry experience.
- Clear understanding of existing and emerging training needs.
You will receive a weekly training allowance of £200 (tax free but we will have to deduct national insurance contributions).

Applications are invited from enthusiastic individuals who fulfil the following criteria –
- Applicants must be from black or ethnic minority backgrounds

- Be 18 years of age or over
- Although there is no higher age limit, you must be a new entrant with 12 months or less of working in the industry
